In March 2003 Geopetrol acquired significant participating interest in 2 major producing Oil fields located in the central Sub — Salin basin of Myanmar covering an area of 1800 Sq.Kms namely Yenangyaung and Chauk.
A recent  field study performed by a  third party and Goldpetrol in 2005 highlight a significant potential, both in the developed and undeveloped areas, to be tapped by Well Reactivations  and Work Over , Infill  and Exploration Drilling. Goldpetrol has now setup a plan to improve Oil Production in the existing fields and to discover new hydrocarbons accumulations.
The fields are operated by GOLDPETROL JOC, a Joint Operating Company
Future Plans
To undertake development drilling to significantly increase production. To explore, prove and produce new hydrocarbons reservoirs within the concessions
To apply innovative solutions appropriate for old mature fields
